Room 2 Stay

Design and visualisation for Room 2 Stay, produced in collaboration with Transition by Design.

Room 2 Stay is a proposal to provide living spaces to people experiencing homelessness within a network of homes with spare rooms. The tenants form a cohousing group supported by traditional homelessness service providers, community-based organisations, and local volunteers. Using a typical cohousing model as a basis, the homes are linked to a collectively designed and managed common house, shared utilities, and co-managed green space.

The proposal is part of the Homemaker project exploring existing and proposed solutions on how underused spaces across Oxford can be turned into decent, secure and truly affordable new homes for people in housing need.
