OBWARZANKI

Proposal for two variants of mobile stands to be used by over 45 obwarzanki and souvenir vendors trading within the Old Town of Kraków, Poland. Referencing the rich historic context of the city the project finds expression in a simple, practical geometric form, clad in thin copper sheets intended to age over time.

Obwarzanki are traditional braided circular pretzels, produced for centuries according to a geographically protected method in Kraków.

This proposal was part of a design competition organised by the Kraków municipality with the intention to roll out and replace the existing obsolete vendor carts.
