SELF BUILD

Proposal for an affordable, modular self build starter home that can be constructed for less than £40,000.

Able to achieve the Passivhaus standard, it removes the need for any heating, thus minimising the house’s energy use. The design proposes an airtight system of plywood box-beams filled with natural wood fibre insulation for a healthy and sustainable internal environment.

This proposal was part of the 2015 Self Build on a Shoestring competition.
